TCP Client/Server Control
Controlling LC Device via TCP Client/Server Control via any software environmentThe OpenPolScope software has an inbuilt TCP Server for listening to commands to control the LC device from other software environment. Start by creating a configuration file. For this tutorial we use the GenericLC (demo) device adapter which is included in the OpenPolScope software installer. The commands accepted by the GenericLC device adapter is applicable to actual device adapters.


To enable the TCP Server click on the tab for the LC device, under Addons find 'ExternalControlPlugin' and click on 'Show...' and then enable by enabling the checkbox ' Enable TCP Listener'

Using your own software as client or a TCP client one can test the connection using the following method:

Controlling LC Device via File Listener Control via any software environmentThe OpenPolScope software also has an archaic File Listener control available. The OpenPolScope software will check for changes to the selected file and when detected will parse the content of the file for commands.
